Three of Twitter's leading faces are launching a new venture dubbed The Obvious Corporation. Few details have yet been released about the project, except a statement that the corporation intends to develop systems "that help people work together to improve the world." The venture is being launched by Biz Stone, Evan Williams, and Jason Goldman.
The move comes after a series of shake-ups within Twitter's internal hierarchy, including the replacement of former CEO Evan Williams by COO Dick Costolo. Another Twitter co-founder, Jack Dorsey, is now the CEO of mobile payment processor Square. According to Stone, Williams, and Goldman, they plan to only minimally involve themselves in the operation of Twitter for the moment, until a new need for their input arises.
