Percussion Software has announced that Thrifty Car Rental, a subsidiary of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc., has gone live on Thrifty.com with Percussion's Rhythmyx enterprise content management system. Thrifty's choice of the Rhythmyx solution focuses initially on the company's online Special Marketing Programs, which are used by the headquarters staff, as well as local franchise owners, in an effort to drive sales and build brand loyalty. By the end of the calendar year, all of Thrifty's Internet presence, including up to 250 franchise sites, its extranet hub, and its corporate Intranet, will be powered by the Rhythmyx content management system. Thrifty is a value-oriented car rental company with a presence both in the airport and local car rental markets. It operates in 64 countries and territories with nearly 1,200 locations worldwide. Thrifty's goals for the solution include: maintaining consistent look and feel and brand presentation across Thrifty's main Web site and Teamowner Web Sites; simplifying the process local franchise owners use to customize their Teamowner Web sites; and enhancing Thrifty's internal communications via a content management system for the corporate Intranet. Thrifty is using Rhythmyx to build consistent page layouts that can be customized by the local owners with their own images, and to create special offers using Rhythmyx' GUI-based Active Assembly capabilities, which require no programming skills. A total of 100 authors and producers across the US and Canada will use the Rhythmyx system. Thrifty is initially using Rhythmyx for English language content, but plans are underway to expand to French and Spanish versions.
