The Thomson Corporation has announced additional content for Thomson Scientific's ISI Web of Knowledge and a linking agreement between Thomson Scientific and the American Chemical Society.
Thomson Scientific has announced that Zoological Record -- a database of animal biology -- is now available on ISI Web of Knowledge. Zoological Record is an information resource for every field in animal biology; for academic, government, and commercial projects; and for conducting reliable and in-depth information searches. Zoological Record offers electronic coverage extending back to 1978. While taxonomy represents a unique branch of life sciences, the scope of Zoological Record also covers animal biology -- from biodiversity and the environment to marine biology and veterinary sciences.
ISI Web of Knowledge, a Thomson scientific solution, is a single environment from which users can access, analyze, and manage invaluable research information, integrating journal and patent literature, Web content, evaluation tools and bibliographic management products. ISI Web of Knowledge also offers new personalization features for authors, more sophisticated search tools for advanced researchers, a more intuitive interface for novices, streamlined integration capabilities, and new journal analysis tools for libraries. When accessed on ISI Web of Knowledge, Zoological Record will be enhanced with these value-added features and functionality, including for the first time citation data such as: Citation Alerts that allow users to track citation activity for chosen works without creating a search and Times Cited and Citation Navigation through links to Web of Science.
The Thomson Corporation has also announced its scientific business and the American Chemical Society (ACS) Publications Division have formed a linking agreement that will provide Web of Science subscribers who also subscribe to American Chemical Society Publications with links to the full-text of articles from ACS Web editions and ACS Journal Archives. Current subscribers to ACS Web editions, ACS Journal Archives, and Web of Science which includes access to Science Citation Index, Index Chemicus, and Current Chemical Reactions can now link directly into the ACS journal of their choice. ACS Web editions consist of over 33 peer-reviewed journals.
The American Chemical Society is a nonprofit organization, chartered by the U.S. Congress, with a multidisciplinary membership of more than 159,000 chemists and chemical engineers. It publishes numerous scientific journals and databases, convenes research conferences, and provides educational, science policy and career programs in chemistry.
