Thomson Reuters acquired GeneGo, a provider of biology and disease information, analytics, and decision support solutions for pharmaceutical research and development. GeneGo will become part of the Healthcare & Science business of Thomson Reuters. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
According to Thomson Reuters, the acquisition enables it to provide the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic research communities with a broader variety of solutions for understanding disease mechanisms and therapies.
Founded in 2000 by former molecular biologist Tatiana Nikolskaya, GeneGo includes a multidisciplinary team that includes experts in molecular and systems biology, metabolism, graph therapy, human diseases, and medicinal chemistry. The company employs more than 90 scientists and software developers.
