The Sacramento Bee Launches Digital Editions With NewsStand

The Sacramento Bee, serving the capital of California and surrounding regions, will now offer readers digital copies of the printed editions on a desktop or laptop without being connected to the Internet. NewsStand, Inc., a digital distributor for print media, will provide digital production and delivery of the daily editions as well as ecommerce and database marketing services to The Sacramento Bee. NewsStand's digital distribution technology allows The Sacramento Bee to leverage its editorial and print layouts into a new digital reading experience for subscribers and single copy buyers. Readers can take advantage of digital functionality such as keyword search, direct jumps to desired sections or article continuations with one mouse click, quick scan of two-page spreads, and zoom-in for articles of interest. Single copies and subscriptions of The Sacramento Bee can be purchased at or via NewsStand's Web site. The single copy price is $0.50 for the daily edition and $1.50 for the Sunday edition. An introductory offer will allow digital subscribers to receive 10 weeks (Monday - Sunday) for $2.50 a week, a 44% savings off the regular cover price.
