The BlackBerry is Back

Dec 18, 2014

BlackBerry is going old school, bringing "The Classic" to customers still pining for their old smartphone. It features a full QWERTY keyboard and other retro features like physical navigation keys, a small screen that makes it possible to use the keyboard in one hand, and is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm processor from 2012. It is paired with 2GB of RAM, and runs the BlackBerry 10 operating system.

It also runs Android apps, and comes preloaded with Amazon Appstore. The company announced the phone in New York's Financial District, making it clear that the phone is aimed at the devoted business users that had been at the heart of the company's success in years past.

You can buy an unlocked version of The Classic now through BlackBerry and Amazon for $449, and will be available through AT&T and Verizon in 2015.
