Talis Launches New Digitization Software Service for Universities

Jan 15, 2013

Talis announced the launch of its new software service -- Talis Aspire Digitised Content. Developed with the collaboration of university library partners, The Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA), and using data supplied via the OCLC xISBN service, the new software service will help universities and colleges in the United Kingdom manage complex digitization workflows, and help ensure they are compliant with copyright legislation.

With the launch of Talis Aspire Digitised Content lecturers will raise digitization requests from their desktops, libraries will benefit from easy reporting and management tools that integrate with existing technology, and learners will get online access to digitized content to support their studies. The application is delivered as SaaS and uses The Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) new API, enabling universities in the United Kingdom to get real-time copyright permissions for the first time.
