Sybase iAnywhere Releases SQL Anywhere 10 Beta

iAnywhere, a subsidiary of Sybase, Inc., has announced beta availability of SQL Anywhere 10, the next generation of its database and synchronization product for frontline environments. SQL Anywhere was built to address data rich environments, which include high-performance server and desktop applications running at remote customer sites, workgroup applications deployed in enterprise departments and remote offices, and mobile applications used by sales people or service technicians. This release includes more than 200 new features and enhancements designed to help organizations capture, manage, and capitalize on the data explosion.

Areas of enhancement in SQL Anywhere 10 include: database server performance features, including materialized views, intra-query parallelism, snapshot isolation, parallel backups, and additional indexing methods; enhanced methods for data protection, including built-in high-availability and robust data security; expanded developer productivity resources and platform support, including tools for performance analysis and application profiling, .NET 2.0 support, tight integration with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, and new support for Symbian devices; and innovations in synchronization and messaging, including graphical administration tools for architecture setup and deployment, expanded enterprise integration options, message management and monitoring, and mobile Web services.
