Sybase, Inc., a provider of enterprise infrastructure and wireless software, has announced the launch of new technologies for wireless service providers, wireless ISV's, and mobile device manufacturers. Sybase has announced Answers Anywhere, a natural language and context understanding technology, Sybase mFolio, a personalized Web content services solution for mobile devices, and Sybase PocketBuilder 2.0, the latest release of the mobile application development tool.

Announced by iAnywhere Solutions, a Sybase subsidiary, Answers Anywhere is designed to change subscribers' interaction with data services by making each interaction intuitive and seamless. Answers Anywhere's middleware platform features natural language and context recognition capabilities, and is intended to enable wireless services developers to make it easy for end users to request information, in their own words and in any language, and get accurate answers back quickly.

Sybase mFolio is a non-transcoding content services solution for wireless operators and mobile device manufacturers designed to quickly and affordably optimize subscribers' mobile browsing experience on small screen devices. Sybase mFolio was developed to enable consumers and business users to access personalized Web content, driving the adoption and usage of data services while freeing operators from the expense of a separate catalog of mobile content and additional supporting technology infrastructure.

Sybase has also debuted PocketBuilder 2.0, the latest release of its rapid application development (RAD) tool for mobile and wireless applications.

Finally, Sybase has announced an extension to its partnership with Sprint to offer a range of the company's mobile enterprise solutions to Sprint's business customers over the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network. Using Sybase's iAnywhere mobile technologies in conjunction with Sprint devices and network services, enterprise customers can mobilize existing corporate information systems or rapidly develop customized applications for their mobile workforce. Verticals where the two companies plan to work together include finance and insurance, healthcare, government, and education.
