SwetsWise Online Content Adds Publishers

Swets Information Services has recently signed seven new publishers to SwetsWise Online Content. SwetsWise is a Web-based, modular service for the procurement, access, and management of subscriptions and online information. SwetsWise now carries a total of 8,325 full text ejournals from 309 publishers. New publishers include Akadémiai Kiadó, The American Institute of Biological Sciences, American Psychiatric Publishing, Inc., Commonwealth Forestry Commission, Equinox Publishing Ltd., Pharmaceutical Press, and Vieweg Verlag - GWV Fachverlage.

Akadémiai Kiadó (www.akkrt.hu) is a Hungarian publisher of scientific and academic books and journals. Its authors, Hungarian scientists and academics, include experts in many disciplines: e.g. economics and sociology, linguistics, biology and ecology.

The American Institute of Biological Sciences (www.aibs.org) is a non-profit scientific association headquartered in Washington DC. Founded in 1947, membership consists of approximately 6,000 biologists and 80 professional societies and other organizations. AIBS is dedicated to advancing the biological sciences by engaging in coalition activities with its members in research, education, public policy, and public outreach. AIBS publishes the peer-reviewed journal, BioScience, and the education Web site, www.actionbioscience.org.

American Psychiatric Publishing, Inc. (www.appi.org) is a publisher of books, journals, and other media related to psychiatry and mental health. APPI publishes professional books, books for the general public, journals, CD-ROM multimedia products, electronic products, and audiotapes and videotapes.

The Forestry Commission (www.forestry.gov.uk) is the Government Department responsible for forestry policy throughout Great Britain. The mission of the Forestry Commission is to protect and expand Britain's forests and woodlands and increase their value to society and the environment.

Equinox Publishing Ltd. (www.equinoxpub.com) is a new independent publisher based in London. The current academic list includes journals, textbooks, and monographs in archaeology, linguistics, popular music, biblical and religious studies and theology, as well as more general interest books on jazz and popular music.

Pharmaceutical Press (www.pharmpress.com), the publications division of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, produces books, journals, and related electronic products on pharmacy, the pharmaceutical sciences, and other related disciplines. Pharmaceutical Press works in collaboration with both new and established authors and editors.
