Swets Information Services has added five publishers to the "Gateway To China" program. The "Gateway to China" program allows publishers to build business in China by being locally represented in this market. It comprises of a technical solution, allowing 1,500 Chinese universities and research institutes to link in to SwetsWise Online Content while avoiding the international internet flow fees that Chinese customers are normally charged when accessing foreign Web sites. The program also provides scope for the promotion of publisher content, which is carried out by Swets' sales and marketing team based in Beijing.

The following publishers have joined the "Gateway to China" program: Akadémiai Kiadó is Hungary's oldest publisher of scientific and academic books and journals; IWA Publishing, the publishing subsidiary of the International Water Association (IWA), is a provider of information services on all aspects of water, wastewater, and related environmental fields; Multilingual Matters is an international independent publishing house, with lists in the areas of translation and interpreting, bilingualism and bilingual education, second and foreign language learning, socio-linguistics and books for parents; Schattauer Publishers produces books and journals in medicine, psychology and veterinary medicine; and Walter de Gruyter is a scholarly publisher in Europe that publishes in the natural sciences, medicine, and the humanities.
