Springer Extends Free Access for Digital Library Project in Haiti

Jul 16, 2012

Scientific publisher, Springer, announced plans to extend the period of free access to its online platform in Haiti through the year 2015. This will give over 15,000 students and researchers in the country access to Springer's scientific content from 2,000 research-level scientific journals including French-language editions.

The digital library project is being set up by Bibliotheques sans Frontieres in partnership with the State University of Haiti. Springer believes giving Haitians access to the journals will assist the educational goals of the country as it continues to rebuild after the devastating 2010 earthquake.
