Sonic Foundry Enhances Mediasite Live; Announces New Customers

Sonic Foundry Inc., a rich media solutions company, has announced a new architecture, higher performance, and enhancements to its Mediasite Live rich media presentation system that begins shipping immediately. Mediasite Live is a real-time, rich media communications system that provides a capture appliance integrated with publishing server software for creating, managing, and viewing rich media over the Web, or burned to CD. As a plug-and-play system, Mediasite Live is designed to automatically capture, synchronize, stream, and archive graphically rich online presentations in real-time. Highlights of the new capabilities include: high-resolution graphics; flexible delivery; automated operation; a dynamic viewing experience; Web catalogs; multiple configurations; optimization for Windows Media 9 technologies; and a new database engine combined with a software platform based on Microsoft .Net.

Sonic Foundry has also announced that Allergan Inc., GE Transportation Systems, Siebel Systems, Wharton School of Business, and the Wisconsin Department of Administration have chosen the Mediasite Live rich media Web communication system. Mediasite Live is designed for a variety of applications, including online training, corporate communications, rich media publishing, Webcasting, product marketing, and Web-based distance education. Organizations who purchase Mediasite Live can capture and stream their content to an entire employee base, or any organizational population, for a flat fee per system--without per minute fees or user surcharges. Mediasite Live is available for an MSRP of $25,000 through a national group of audio/visual system integrators and network VARs. The product comes in two configurations: rack-mount and mobile.
