Securent, Inc., a provider in the Entitlement Management market, has announced the next release of the Securent Entitlement Management Solution (EMS). Leveraging the Extensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML) standard, Securent EMS v3.0 delivers an entitlement management platform. Securent provides organizations with protection of their sensitive data by adding consistent policy enforcement to databases, including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, to complement existing policy enforcement capabilities at the application and presentation layers. Securent EMS v3.0 now extends its capabilities to protect critical off-the-shelf applications, including Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, JBoss Portal 2.4 and 2.6, and BEA WebLogic Portal 9.2.

Securent’s EMS v3.0 agents integrate with these enterprise collaboration and portal platforms designed to ensure companies’ applications, documents, and data are secured while compliance requirements are enforced. Securent EMS is scalable up to millions of users and thousands of applications deployed across hundreds of sites. Each EMS component has standards-compliant interfaces and can be deployed independently of one another in co-located, distributed, and federated configurations. This architecture is designed to allow enterprises to match Securent EMS deployments to their specific needs. It enables Securent EMS to consistently manage, enforce, and audit entitlements, including mainframes, networking, storage, and grid computing. Securent EMS provides a more scalable and cost-effective alternative to custom coding of fine-grained access controls into applications. Loosely coupling entitlements with application services, Securent EMS is also a key infrastructure service in a SOA deployment. Sold directly and through members of Securent’s Delivery Partner Program and Distribution Channel Partner Program, Securent EMS v3.0 is generally available.
