Securent Inc., a provider in the entitlement management market, has announced that it will deliver an entitlement management solution supporting Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0.

Securent’s new release of its standards-based Entitlement Management Solution (EMS) is designed to enable organizations to consistently manage, enforce, and audit access control policies to any SharePoint resource, including documents or document libraries, lists, search queries, and web parts. With Securent’s solution for MOSS 2007, security is logically separated from site content and can be configured and audited by local and remote administrators. Enterprise, department, and individual SharePoint sites and applications have delegated authorization and centralized visibility for enterprises’ security, compliance, and risk management mandates. With Securent, fine-grained policies can be centrally administered and appropriately delegated to individual site owners, and applied consistently to distributed SharePoint sites. Securent’s EMS agents integrate with SharePoint in an attempt to ensure minimal impact to new or existing deployments. Audits are streamlined using on-demand review functionality and real-time SharePoint user and administrator reports.

Securent EMS is designed to enable organizations to secure sensitive applications and data. Securent EMS is also an infrastructure service in a SOA deployment. The results include improved security and compliance with regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Basel Capital Accord (Basel II), and the National Association of Securities Dealers Rule 2711 (NASD 2711).
