Safari Books Online Releases Video Player

Digital technology library Safari Books Online is releasing a new video player that aims to improve the video watching experience for its users across multiple platforms. Users will be able to tag or write notes on video clips and can share 30-second video clips with friends, as well as seeing improved delivery speeds thanks to the adoption of a content delivery network.

The new video player provides video streams with appropriate bit-rates based on the user's bandwidth and the mobile device, electronic reader, or PC used to access a subscription. Users can also watch videos from the Safari Books Online mobile site ( or from the standard portal (

Other features include an updated player UI to provide a more user friendly interface, the addition of video cross-referencing to show users related videos at the end of a segment, and viewing tracking.
