The Special Libraries Association (SLA) will debut its new Web site in late January 2004. The new site will feature a cleaner, more modern appearance, with functional design, structure, and enhanced user-friendly access. In addition to working with a Web design firm, SLA members and staff participated in surveys and focus groups, which provided valuable feedback to the Association's Web revision team. The new site at www.sla.org is expected to feature improved access to all major resources. The enhancements have been facilitated by developing a taxonomy, thesaurus, and new content management system and by reorganizing the content within redesigned navigation tools. SLA launched its inaugural Web site in May 1996. The home page was redesigned in early 1997 featuring a purple background. In October 2000, SLA redesigned the site in response to member needs.
