SDL Announces Global Authoring Survey Results

Oct 09, 2009

SDL announced the results of the 2009 edition of its Global Authoring Survey, a yearly survey that explores global trends in technical documentation authoring. Key observations from this year's survey include an increase in XML and DITA adoption, as well as a rise in global targeting for technical documents. According to the survey, the percentage of organizations with 100% of documentation already stored in XML more than doubled since last year's survey. Other subjects covered by the survey include the sizes and locations of technical authoring departments, the usage of different authoring tools, and the use of content management systems.
