Dec 04, 2009

ProQuest announced that it would add the complete backfile of the New Statesman to Collection 8 of its Periodicals Archive Online. The addition features a full 88 years of content from the prestigious publication, ranging from 2000 back to its inception in 1913 and covering topics such as politics, current affairs, business, and the arts. Content from famed contributors such as Aldous Huxley, Virginia Woolf, and Tony Blair is also included in the archive.

In other news, ProQuest extended its database of early English-language books to include a number of works from continental Europe. Specially featured in the collection are works from the Danish Royal Library's National Collection. The collection, which will launch at the end of 2009, featured a variety of works from the 15th and 16th centuries, as well as full-color facsimiles of rare works from the 17th century.
