ProQuest Acquires IBSS Social Science Resource

Jan 15, 2010

ProQuest announced that it has acquired the International Bibliography of Social Sciences (IBSS), a database for indexing interdisciplinary research founded in 1951 and produced by the London School of Economics. IBSS contains more than 2.5 million bibliographic references to journals, books, and reviews, and expands by about 120,000 articles each year. It serves as a broad resource to the body of work on numerous subjects, helping researchers discover applicable articles through its search capabilities.

Prior to the acquisition, ProQuest distributed information from IBSS through its academic resource network. With the acquisition, IBSS will be further integrated into ProQuest's research platform. Print volumes of the IBSS will continue to be available from Routledge.
