Penton Media, Summit Publishing Move to Texterity

Texterity, Inc., has announced that Penton Media is now delivering three information technology magazines using Texterity's Published Web Format and that Summit Publishing Company is delivering a publication for the packaging community through Texterity. Sample editions are available online.

Penton will useTexterity for Windows & .NET Magazine, iSeries NEWS, and SQL Server Magazine move this month to Texterity's digital delivery solution. Texterity begins delivering the Penton IT magazines with the June 2004 editions, and all current digital subscribers will have access to the new editions. The new delivery solution includes integrated digital subscriber management, archive issue access, and integrated links to advertisements and Penton Media Web site content. Full access is available for any reader with a Web browser without the need for additional downloads or plug-ins. Readers may also save issues to their local computer for offline reading.

Summit Publishing will deliver Packaging World, a publication for the packaging community, using Texterity's Published Web Format digital delivery solution. The digital edition of Packaging World includes several unique reader features, including immediate browser ("no plug-in required") access to issues, archive searching, integrated video presentations, and downloadable editions available in Published Web Format or optional Adobe PDF.

The Published Web Format (PWF) solution includes subscriber management, content conversion, hosting, intelligent tracking, and branding for each magazine. PWF offers the following features: Replicates the experience of the print edition--Offers the same layout, page numbers, and image quality of the magazine, but with navigation and linking capabilities. Full support for multimedia, cover wraps, bellybands, pop-up cards and gatefolds is included. Subscriber management--Works with major fulfillment systems and formats, including add/drop and subscriber opt-out. Configurable access restrictions to issues based on subscriber, including archive and search. Integrated email delivery and tracking service--Supports full mail tracking, including mails opened, click-through, "send to a friend", opt-outs, and bounce back breakdowns. Article and ad tracking--Full reporting on article access, ad viewing, and third-party linking provides measures of readership and advertising effectiveness.
