Open Text Releases SOCKS Client

Apr 17, 2009

Open Text, an enterprise software company and provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM), announced the availability of its latest connectivity solution, Open Text SOCKS Client, an enterprise-grade SOCKS V4 and V5 client that assists organizations to secure their enterprise content applications over TCIP/IP networks. SOCKS is an industry standard security protocol that facilitates the routing of network traffic through firewalls and proxy servers. The Open Text SOCKS Client can "socks-enable" enterprise applications without requiring changes to their code. A rules-based engine allows administrators to decide which application traffic should be secured. Open Text SOCKS Client offers support for Windows Vista and 64-bit platforms, authentication through Microsoft Active Directory and Kerberos, and encryption of network traffic using industry-standard GSSAPI.
