Nuance Communications continued to try to pry market share away from Adobe Acrobat with the release of its latest PDF conversion software. Nuance PDF Converter Enterprise 7 is priced at about one-third the cost of Acrobat, and delivers virtual document assembly capabilities, allowing users to construct a single PDF from component files in multiple formats, including from paper. Nuance also worked with Microsoft to create a PDF converter for Microsoft Word in 2003.
