North Plains Systems Announces E-DAM Technology for Adobe Creative Suite

Dec 05, 2003

North Plains Systems Corp., a provider of enterprise digital asset management (E-DAM) solutions, has announced an integrated enterprise digital asset management solution for the Adobe Creative Suite. This integration is designed to allow creative professionals the freedom and capability to design and collaborate, while allowing the organization to manage, protect, and distribute these assets. North Plains' integrated support of the Adobe Creative Suite includes three new components for TeleScope Enterprise 7.1. The I-Piece for Adobe XMP provides the interface to any product that is "Powered by XMP." This I-Piece gives the creative professional the ability to perform asset management functions relating to metadata directly within the Adobe Creative Suite or any other product that supports the XMP standard. The I-Piece for Adobe XMP enables metadata to be captured at the asset creation stage and maintained within TeleScope throughout the asset's lifecycle. The I-Piece for Adobe InDesign gives non-creative users the ability to search, preview, and dynamically interact with InDesign documents directly from a web browser and without the need for the InDesign application. Content editors who must research or review designs will enjoy the ability to perform full text search of InDesign documents. Additionally, they can preview every page of the document online and extract text or previews of each asset embedded in the document. The Conversion I-Piece for Adobe Graphics Server allows users to perform complex transformations. Conversion scripts can be written to perform multi-step transformation processes. These scripts can then be used by all users, including non-creative professionals, within TeleScope to perform the transformation on download to address the user's specific needs. The TeleScope I-Pieces for Adobe Creative Suite will be available later this month.
