Newstex Launches Blogs On Demand

Nov 18, 2005

Newstex, the Content On Demand company, has announced its new Blogs On Demand product, which makes available full-text blog content from Weblogs for content distributors and enterprise customers. Newstex actually licenses blog content directly from bloggers and then takes in each carefully selected blog feed in text format and uses its NewsRouter technology to scan it in real-time.

Each blog post delivered as part of Newstex Blogs On Demand is treated as a news story. Blog content is integrated into applications that people use, including content aggregator services, financial trading environments, and customer relationship management systems. Newstex automatically tags each blog post with company names, stock tickers, key executives and government officials, and detailed topical categories. Each blog post delivered as part of Newstex Blogs On Demand will include Newstex's PeopleTickering--a system that synthesizes metadata from numerous sources and blogs to create a database of people who make the news.

Also, Newstex has announced a new relationship with Open Source Media, an online venture designed to bring together top online writers, journalists, and commentators under a single umbrella. The agreement calls for Newstex to provide tailored, real-time news-feeds from branded newswires, newspapers, magazines, financial and business sources, and official government feeds to the Open Source Media site. This will allow full-text news stories from Newstex to utilize Newstex's reservoir of full-text sources to be delivered alongside OSM content.
