Oct 15, 2002

NetSilica, Inc., a provider of SSL-based, enterprise-class Secure Remote Access solutions, has announced the availability of its Enterprise Private Network (EPN) Secure Remote Access solution for enterprise portals. This enhanced functionality is designed to enable browser-based, secure access to data and Intranet applications within the portal environment and extends a portal's reach to any data source within the corporate network. EPN is intended to create secure, individualized access to user data on local and network drives, as well as Outlook, Lotus Notes, and Web services. EPN integrates with all portal technologies including BEA's WebLogic, IBM's WebSphere, Plumtree, Epicentric, and Sun ONE, with the goal of lowering overall costs for secure remote access by eliminating the need for expensive and more complex VPN and dial-up solutions. Centralized administration functions enable administrators to monitor and manage users, access controls and data sources through a secure centralized interface.
