Motorola Signs Agreement With NewsGator for Behind-the-Firewall RSS Content

Jan 12, 2007

Motorola, Inc. has announced that it has signed an agreement with NewsGator Technologies, Inc., a RSS platform company, to mobilize RSS content for enterprises. Under the terms of the agreement, Motorola will extend NewsGator-aggregated RSS content from behind the firewall to mobile users on devices, including the Motorola Q, Samsung BlackJack, the Palm Treo family, and other standards-based smartphones. The announcement follows Motorola's recently completed acquisition of Good Technologies. Motorola's Good Technology Group, which was formed upon the closing of the transaction, will work with NewsGator to implement the agreement and make NewsGator's technology available through its secure, managed service. The initial combined offering, available immediately, will enable enterprise users to access and read their NewsGator-managed RSS feeds within the Motorola Good Technology Group client. The companies will enhance this functionality with a joint development program in the first half of 2007.
