Motorola, Inc. and SmartServ Online, Inc. have announced the launch of Forbes.com Wireless, powered by SmartServ. The parties expect this to be the first of several SmartServ applications to be deployed on Nextel's network of Motorola wireless phones running Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition (J2ME) technology. The Forbes.com Wireless application will enable access of financial market data, including stock quotes, indexes, and company news on the Nextel i95cl from Motorola, with support for other iDEN handsets coming soon. Additional features include a symbol search tool, and a customizable watch list, giving consumers the power to track up to 10 stocks directly from their mobile handsets. Motorola iDEN J2ME handset users can download Forbes.com Wireless at www.nextel.com/idenupdate. Special introductory pricing is $9.99 for unlimited use of the application for 6 months.
