MindTouch Wiki Introduces MindTouch Managed Office Server

Jul 14, 2006

MindTouch has announced the general availability of the MindTouch Managed Office Server (MOS), an onsite wiki appliance specifically designed to meet the information management needs of small-to medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

Existing content management systems, portal applications and in-house Intranet sites are either cost prohibitive or cumbersome to implement and support. This leaves most SMBs without a secure, central place to easily manage notes, documents and media. MindTouch MOS addresses this need with an easy-to-use wiki application designed for the corporate environment.

The product uses an intuitive, Web-based interface, making it easy for anyone to update content and share files, resulting in productivity gains and a measurable return on investment (ROI). In addition, the appliance sits securely behind the customer's firewall, keeping the customer's data on the local network near its employees, while MindTouch seamlessly manages all technical aspects in the background.

Compatible with mixed network environments including Windows, OS X and Linux, MindTouch MOS is offered as a complete, bundled solution and can be installed in minutes without onsite IT support. Once it is deployed, users can immediately access the wiki application via a Web-browser. Business continuity is ensured through remote management features, including unlimited software upgrades and security releases, encrypted offsite data back-ups and proactive hardware monitoring.

MindTouch MOS is offered through channel partners. Pricing starts at $2,995 which includes the appliance, the wiki application and a full year of service.
