MIS Utilities, a niche software maker, specializing in solutions for network monitoring and asset tracking, has announced Network Asset Tracker, an IT solution for tracking company's network assets. Essentially, the program is intended to provide administrators with a way to remotely obtain thorough information about operating systems, service packs, hotfixes, hardware, software, and processes currently running on PCs.

The program's reporting module is designed to provide a system administrator with information about selected PCs or the entire network, such as: operating system type, version, and build; service packs and hotfixes installed; size and free space of HDD volumes. These reports can be exported to HTML, XML, MS Excel, MS Visio XML Drawing, or RTF files.

Network Asset Tracker recognizes processor type and frequency from Intel, AMD, VIA, Cyrix, Alpha, PowerPC, SiS, Transmeta, National Semiconductor, MIPS, Centaur, UMC, NexGen, WinChip, and Rise Technology. Network Asset Tracker 2.5 is available online for free evaluation. Licensing costs vary from $99 (10 PCs) to $999 (Corporate License).
