Adobe premier development partner Managing Editor Inc. began distribution of Version 6 of its K4 Cross-Media Publishing Platform, an editorial management system designed for cross-media input and output including workflow and remote access functionality, as well as numerous other features and improvements. This latest version is designed to handle a wide variety of formats, such as Microsoft Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PDFs, XML files, podcasts, and PowerPoint presentations, as well as already-supported formats such as Adobe InDesign and InCopy.
K4 Version 6 also introduces an innovative workflow model designed to key users in to the specific needs of a job, ensuring a high degree of transparency and a more efficient workflow. Users can also collaborate on tasks simultaneously without interference, allowing multiple aspects of a production process to be executed in parallel. A new web-based interface allows administrators to oversee the process.
