Owners of the Kindle Fire, set to ship Nov. 15, will be able to choose from thousands of the most popular Android apps, including Netflix, Rhapsody, Pandora, Twitter, Facebook, and The Weather Channel, Amazon announced this week. It also said that games from Zynga, Electronic Arts, Gameloft, PopCap, and Rovio will be available for download on the Kindle Fire.
Customers can download and register for these apps using Amazon's 1-Click payment technology, and all apps downloaded from the Amazon Appstore will be available on customers' other Android devices as well. Amazon also offers one paid app for free every day in the Amazon Appstore. The $199 Kindle Fire features a dual-core processer, color touch screen, and the Amazon Silk web browser. Customers will also be able to use a free month-long trial of Amazon Prime, which offers free 2-day shipping and access to 13,000 movies and TV shows and the Kindle Owners' Lending Library.
