Elsevier and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) reached an agreement to automatically deliver the metadata of 90 J-STAGE journals in SciVerse Scopus. JST has been utilizing Scopus custom data to analyze scientific research in Japan at a national level.
The companies stated that indexing the J-STAGE journals will help expose the published research to the global academic community. Metadata from J-STAGE will also continuously and automatically be indexed within SciVerse Scopus. J-STAGE was launched in 1999 to encourage Japanese research societies to publish their academic journals electronically on a central platform.
