Is Apple Launching a "Cable Killer"?

Mar 19, 2015

Good news for cord-cutters has been coming fast and furious in 2015. The latest on this theme is a report from the Wall Street Journal that Apple is planning to go a step beyond Apple TV, and actually "offer a slimmed-down bundle of TV networks this fall." Many of these channels would be broadcast channels like ABC and NBC (which you can get for free via an antenna), but would total about 25 channels.

Although the line-up has not been announced, the service is reported to cost about $30-$40 per month. The move makes sense, as Nielsen's Total Audience Report indicates that 18-24-year-olds are watching less and less traditional TV. BI Intelligence charted those findings.
