Inkling launched its etextbook platform (also titled Inkling), with the platform's iPad app being available for immediate download. To support the platform, Inkling also announced content development partnerships with publishers, including McGraw-Hill, Wolters Kluwer, and Cengage Learning.

Inkling makes use of sync technology in order to allow students to collaborate in their studies, sharing margin notes and highlights. Additionally, interactive media is capable of being integrated into all titles, including movies, quizzes, 3D objects, and guided tours. Pilot programs for the Inkling platform have been announced at colleges including Seton Hill University, Abilene Christian University, and the University of Alabama.
