Ingram’s Vital Source Acquires VPG Integrated Media

Ingram Content Group Inc. announced that Vital Source is expanding its e-textbook offering with the acquisition of VPG Integrated Media (VPG), a developer of enhanced e-textbook applications, interactive learning objects, and e-whiteboard content, as well as video, audio, and animation production services for educational publishers.

VPG works with publishers and educators to create educational content, with clients including Cambridge University Press, Cengage Learning, Elsevier, Houghton Mifflin, and John Wiley. VPG serves both the K-12 and Higher-Ed publishing segments. According to Ingram, the combination of Vital Source and VPG will present a more robust e-textbook offering that caters to publishers, educators, and students, and the acquisition is a part of the company's general growth strategy for VitalSource, the company's e-textbook and content delivery platform.
