Ingram Digital, an Ingram Content company, announced that it is enhancing the structure of its organization in an attempt to meet the increasing demands of its customers. Four new business units have been created within Ingram Digital, each delivering solutions specific to the requirements of the markets they are focused on: Education Solutions will focus on the individual sales of content from publishers to students in professional, higher, and scholastic education markets, utilizing the VitalSource file format, VitalBook.

William Chesser, already VP of Sales and Marketing for VitalSource, has been appointed as VP and GM, education solutions. Institutional Solutions will focus on selling and delivering eBooks to academic, public, government and corporate libraries via the MyiLibrary aggregated online eBook platform. Retail Solutions will help publishers and online retailers market, promote, sell, and deliver eBooks and digital audio books to consumers. Andrew Weinstein has been appointed VP and GM, retail solutions. Content Solutions is concentrated around the digital asset management and distribution 'warehouse' of Ingram Digital and is tasked with supplying content solutions not only for the other business units, but also publishers from all market sectors and regions. Its services will include the Ingram Digital Content Hub (the digital archive), as well as CoreSource (Ingram Digital's asset management solution).
