Ingenta, a technology provider has announced details of a new subscription management service for IngentaConnect. A new web interface will provide IngentaConnect's publisher, librarian, and agent partners with administration capabilities, while the back-end systems, which support the tools have also been re-engineered to provide greater flexibility and performance. The web interface will make use of dynamic technologies such as AJAX, CSS, and JavaScript Pages and Faces to simplify and expedite administrative activities.

Ingenta has also announced that 8 new publishers have contracted to include their content in the IngentaConnect scholarly research platform. New publishers to join the service include the UK's National Gallery, which will post its Technical Bulletin online for the first time, and is committed to making an initial 26-year backfile available. Also in the UK, Science History Publications has selected IngentaConnect as the hosting platform for its 2 journals, as have Analytica Publications and the Stewart Postharvest Review. In Europe, the National Botanic Garden of Belgium's partnership with IngentaConnect will enable its journal Systematics and Geography of Plants to capitalize on potential crossover usage generated by Ingenta's pre-existing relationships with comparable publishers, and Medical Journals Limited have also selected to host their journals with IngentaConnect. In North America, the Satir Institute of the Pacific and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists have chosen IngentaConnect as their online publishing partner.
