IBM Acquires Guardium

IBM has acquired in real-time enterprise database monitoring and protection company Guardium. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Waltham, Mass.-based Guardium produces technology to help clients safeguard data, monitor database activity, and reduce operational costs by automating regulatory compliance tasks. IBM will integrate Guardium within IBM's Information Management Software portfolio. The acquisition is the 28th such deal in support of IBM's Information Management strategy.
