Hummingbird Ltd., a developer of enterprise information management systems (EIMS), has announced plans to offer a suite of 64-bit native connectivity software for Intel Itanium 2 processor platforms. The Hummingbird suite of Connectivity 9.0 family of products include the X Server Exceed, NFS Maestro, and HostExplorer.

Hummingbird offers 64-bit support for its entire suite of connectivity software comprised of PC X Server, Network Terminal Emulation, and PC-based Network File System (NFS) software. Hummingbird supports the 64-bit Intel Itanium 2 processor, as well as the latest 64-bit Microsoft operating systems including Windows XP 64-Bit Edition Version 2003 and Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition for Itanium 2-based systems. The 64-bit Itanium architecture offers enhanced speed and heavy data calculation capabilities. This platform will interoperate with existing applications allowing an enterprise to take full advantage of its current investment in IT infrastructure.
