HBO Now is Coming to Apple TV in April

Mar 10, 2015

While you may not be able to get HBO Go on your Playstation, HBO Now-the network's new streaming service-is coming to Apple TV in April, and if you sign up right away, you will get the service free for 30-days. The catch, of course, is that you need an Apple device. Engadget reports that Apple has an exclusive three-month contract with HBO, preventing anyone else from selling subscriptions. And though you can watch on your Mac or iPad later, you'll need an Apple TV to sign up initially.

HBO says it is in talks with some cable and satellite providers to partner with at launch-though it is unclear how that would work and whether or not it will come to fruition. And while HBO advertises the price at $14.99 per month, the cable companies may be able to set their own prices for access to HBO Now. The $14.99 would allow for up to three simultaneous streams, with no limit on how many devices you can connect.

If you don't already have an Apple TV but are eager to subscribe  to HBO Now you may also want to know that Apple has announced that it will lower its price from $99 to $69.
