H.W. Wilson has announced the addition of ten years more retrospective coverage in September 2005 to the Index to Legal Periodicals Retrospective, in addition to other content announcements.

The additional coverage in Index to Legal Periodicals Retrospective will allow users to search periodicals as far back as 1908. Based on the classic print reference Index to Legal Periodicals & Books, this is the online equivalent of 38 ILP print cumulations. The database makes more than 70 years of periodicals research available for educators, students, law professionals, and others, with indexing of publications 1908 through 1981. Index to Legal Periodicals Retrospective covers over 750 publications from the U.S., Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. Indexing includes book reviews and case citations; in addition to periodicals, annual surveys of the laws of a jurisdiction, annual surveys of the federal courts, yearbooks, and annual reviews of the work in a given field are also indexed. Subject terms (which may have changed over the years) and personal and corporate names have been standardized, ensuring retrieval of all records on a given subject. Original subject headings have been retained as "Historical Subjects." Both current and historical headings are searchable. Index to Legal Periodicals Retrospective can also be searched simultaneously with the contemporary periodicals database Index to Legal Periodicals Full Text.

The periodicals reference database, Readers' Guide Full Text, now offers full text coverage, page images, plus indexing and abstracts for an additional 25 titles, H.W. Wilson has announced. The select additions were each recommended for periodicals collections by Magazines for Libraries and other review media. Coverage begins with their first issues published in 2005. Some 3,000 additional records per year are anticipated. The additions bring the total number of publications covered by Readers' Guide Full Text to over 400-with 225 of those in full text. The new magazines will also be added to Readers' Guide Abstracts and Readers' Guide to Periodical Literature (including the print edition): abstracts and index-only subsets of the database.

Beginning with the first 2005 issues, full text and indexing coverage for 49 journals is being added to H.W. Wilson's Education Full Text, a WilsonWeb database. Thirty-eight are peer-reviewed open-access journals, and the remaining 11 are print-based journals. The new additions are expected to contribute about 1,500 additional records per year. The subject coverage provided by the newly added journals includes substantial attention to such topics as international education, educational technology, special education, and distance learning. Education Full Text offers searching of an international range of English-language periodicals, monographs, and yearbooks from a range of educational specialties. The database delivers full text and page images of articles cover to cover from some 280 periodicals, along with indexing and abstracting of more than 670 total. Coverage includes some 95 journals not covered by ERIC's CIJE. The new journals will also be added to Education Abstracts and Education Index (including the print edition), abstracts, and index-only subsets of the database.
