H.W. Wilson has announced the latest addition to the Wilson Retrospective Collection of periodicals databases: Education Index Retrospective: 1929-1983. This is the online equivalent to 33 Education Index print annuals, with records for more than 830,000 articles from 600 periodicals. For libraries supporting curricula in education, social sciences, public policy, and related fields, this new resource is designed for information, opinions, and research present in decades of education literature.

Education Index Retrospective features links to a subscriber's open-URL compliant reference databases--without the added cost of a link server. Clicking the WilsonLink icon launches a search for full text or additional information on all available open-URL compliant resources, e.g. JSTOR and ERIC. The WilsonWeb holdings indicator links to the subscriber's OPAC to let researchers know if they'll find cited articles on the shelves. Administrators can also add dynamic links to holdings, messages, or custom messages to bibliographic citations--even limit search results to cite only publications among their holdings. The database searches with Education Index, Education Full Text, Wilson OmniFile Full Text, and other WilsonWeb databases. Other databases in the Wilson Retrospective Collection include Humanities & Social Sciences Index Retrospective: 1907-1984; Readers' Guide Retrospective: 1890-1982; Index to Legal Periodicals & Books: 1908-1981, and Art Index Retrospective: 1929-1984. Book Review Digest Retrospective: 1905-1982 will debut in Summer 2005. Education Index Retrospective is offered exclusively on WilsonWeb. Free 30-day trials are available.
