Feb 17, 2011

Social search firm Greplin announced the completion of a $4 million fund-raising round through Sequoia Capital and Peter Chane. Greplin helps users index and search online social media and communication tools, including Facebook, Gmail, and Twitter. Users can authorize the tool to access their accounts, then conduct searches across them.

Greplin also announced a business plan and public availability of the service, which was previously undergoing private beta. While the basic service will be free, premium service will allow users to index enterprise services like Yammer and will also provide a broader indexing scope to accommodate additional content and services.
