Granicus has acquired Webcasting.com, a privately held provider of live and on-demand streaming services. The purchase, which Granicus was able to complete using existing capital, adds more than 60 government agencies to the organization's list of clients, expands its coverage in Northeast state and local government markets, and strengthens its government services portfolio. Granicus plans to migrate Webcasting.com's media assets to its own infrastructure, which it says will boost performance.

Granicus is a streaming media developer serving the government sector, with some of its most recent government clients including the New York Department of Labor, the New York Power Authority, and Wrights Township, Pa.
