Google Rolls Out Google Apps for Government

Jul 29, 2010

Google announced Google Apps for Government, a suite of Google applications designed specifically for government users and others in the public sector. The applications were designed with guidance from the federal government, and the cities of Los Angeles and Orlando, all of which have adopted Google Apps to varying extents.

The suite is designed to help public sector users meet the policy and security needs of their fields, and is certified and accredited for the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), a security certification necessary for all information systems in use by the federal government.
