There have been rumors circulating for years about Google Drive, and at last, the online storage service is expected to launch next week. Google's service will offer 5GB of free storage space for users, reported Information Week, owned by UBM TechWeb.

According to Information Week, files added to Google Drive can reportedly be accessed from a desktop, mobile phone, or tablet, as well as online, via drive.google.com (though currently nonfunctional); however, Google has neither confirmed nor denied these capabilities.

Google Drive will be competing with Amazon Cloud, Apple iCloud, Box.com, Dropbox, Microsoft SkyDrive, and other online storage services.
