Gnip and Twitter have partnered to make Twitter data commercially available through Gnip's Social Media API. Through this partnership, Twitter will sublicense access to public tweets, which Gnip reports is in response to the demand for better monitoring and analytics tools aimed at Twitter.

Gnip also announced three new Twitter feeds: Twitter Halfhose, a volume-based feed comprised of half of all tweets; Twitter Mentionhose, a coverage-based feed that provides a real-time stream of tweets that mention the user; and Twitter Decahose, a volume-based feed composed of 10% of all tweets.
