IT research and analysis provider Gartner, Inc. announced that it has agreed to acquire AMR Research, Inc. for approximately $64 million in cash, subject to closing adjustments. AMR Research is a research and advisory services firm that focuses on providing information to supply chain management and IT professionals, and has projected full year revenues of approximately $40 million for 2009.

Gartner plans to finance the acquisition through existing revenue and through its line of credit. The deal is expected to close later this month.
