Financial Times Rolls Out FT Smart Match globally

The Financial Times is extending its content matching service FT Smart Match to global advertising clients after a successful initial trial. The technology, provided by Smartology, recognizes the meaning of news articles, allowing advertisers to match their content to relevant news stories in real time.

Piloted in June 2011, FT Smart Match uses semantic profiling which analyses text through weighting concepts and categories to derive matching accuracy and brand protection for advertiser content on Twelve clients are now signed up and include multinational banking and financial services companies, a global business school, major energy and IT conglomerates, with more in the pipeline.
